Job summary

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Procurement Officer on behalf of one of our clients. The role is based in Bristol with a competitive day rate on a contract basis.

You will develop and negotiate contracts, lead end-to-end procurement exercises and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. You will provide commercial guidance to project teams, engage stakeholders and manage supplier relationships while identifying and mitigating commercial risks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in high level procurement is essential.
• Experience working in high compliance sectors.
• Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and providing procurement advice.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Current SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies for approval and support contracts.
• Lead the preparation and negotiation of contracts for acquisition and support phases.
• Prepare ITT and ITN documentation in accordance with guidance and procedures.
• Manage the tendering process, including drafting and issuing invitations to tender.
• Evaluate supplier bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with project objectives and value for money.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal outcomes.
• Provide commercial advice and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the acquisition and support phases.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of commercial activities and progress to senior stakeholders.
• Support the development of business cases and approval documentation for projects.
• Support contract amendments and variations as required.
• Conduct post-contract award reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future processes.
