Job summary

Click in Portsmouth is seeking a SC Cleared Java Developer to join a dedicated aerospace and defence program. This hybrid role requires on-site work three days a week to support a satellite management system development, with two days remote.

You'll contribute to the full SDLC in a seven‑member scrum team, focusing on design (UML), Java development, and microservices, with automated testing a key part of the process.

Qualifications

• Experience in Java development with UML design.
• Experience with microservices and automated testing is beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful web services and Spring/Hibernate.

Job description

We are recruiting for a SC Cleared Java Developer for a leading Aerospace & Defence organisation based in Portsmouth, this is a Hybrid role with 3 days a week on site, 2 days WFH.

Responsibilities

The developer shall join a 7 member scrum team as part of a wider program to deliver a management systems for a new Satellite. The developer shall contribute to all stages of the software development life cycle and thus have solid experience in design (particularly using UML), development (particularly using Java technologies) and test. The developer should have experience of working with microservices. Automated testing is a critical part of the project so any experience of this would be highly beneficial.

• Development of code within an agile environment (scrum).
• Working with the team to design, implement and test features for a new product development.
• Task estimation in accordance with sprint planning.)

• Java Core (version 8+)
• Spring Boot, Spring Framework - Good knowledge of Developing in Spring with Hibernate
