Job summary

VIQU IT is seeking an Automation / Platform Engineer with SC clearance for a 6-month hybrid contract in Greater London. The role focuses on upgrading enterprise applications, designing future upgrades, and standardising processes across Windows and Linux environments.

You will automate using PowerShell, Bash, Python and Ansible, build CI/CD pipelines, and drive IAC and DevOps practices while troubleshooting complex issues in production.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering enterprise applications on Windows and Linux.
• Experience upgrading applications in production environments.
• Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python or similar tools.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with application servers, middleware and databases.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities.
• Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements.
• Administer applications deployed across Windows and Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot application, middleware and infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
• Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Promote IAC along with DevOps best practices.
