Job summary

VIQU Limited is recruiting an SC Cleared Automation / Platform Engineer for a 6 month hybrid contract in the UK. You will upgrade enterprise applications across the estate and contribute to future upgrade designs aligned to growth strategy.

The role requires hands-on experience upgrading apps on Windows and Linux, strong automation skills, and a focus on standardising upgrades. You will build CI/CD pipelines and promote IaC and DevOps best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience administering enterprise applications on Windows and Linux.
• Experience delivering application and platform upgrades in production environments.
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell, Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities
• Ensure applications remain compliant with vendor support and security requirements
• Administer applications deployed across Windows and Linux environments
• Troubleshoot application, Middleware and infrastructure issues
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks
• Identify opportunities to automate manual operational processes
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools
• Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines
• Promote IaC along with DevOps best practices

Automation / Platform Engineer - SC Cleared

Inside IR35 - 6 month contract - Hybrid

My client is seeking to recruit an SC Cleared Automation / Platform Engineer within this role you will focus on upgrading enterprise applications across the estate and support with the design of future upgrades aligned to the growth strategy.

For this role you will have hands-on experience upgrading applications across a range of technologies in Windows and Linux environments, ideally gained in other large-scale organisations. Supported by strong automation skills, you will join a team aligned to streamlining and standardise application and infrastructure upgrades.

Core Activities:

• Plan, coordinate and deliver application upgrades, migrations and platform refresh activities

• Administer applications deployed across Windows and Linux environments

• Experience with application Servers, Middleware and databases
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
