Job summary
Experis is seeking an experienced AIX Engineer to join a dedicated team responsible for delivering Managed Services and Project-based activities across our clients' enterprise accounts. This senior technical role supports critical infrastructure and drives a programme of migration and transformation.
The successful candidate will provide expert-level support for AIX environments across Live, Development, and Test platforms, while leading infrastructure changes, upgrades, and automation
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with IBM AIX 5/6/7.
- Experience administering VIOS v2/v3.
- Experience managing IBM HMC platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
- Ability to develop UNIX shell scripts.
- Experience supporting large UNIX/Linux estates.
- Understanding of system performance tuning.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support and maintenance for AIX server environments.
- Administer and support AIX 5/6/7 across physical and virtual infra.
- Support VIOS 2/3 environments.
- Administer IBM HMC platforms.
- Investigate incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Deliver change, upgrade, migration and transformation activities.
- Develop UNIX shell scripts to support automation.
- Support infrastructure projects across full delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud and service teams.
- Participate in out-of-hours implementations when required.
- Ensure activities align with service management and security standards.
