Job summary

Experis is seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join a specialist team responsible for providing both Managed Service and project-based activities. The role supports a complex Linux estate across live production, development, and test environments and requires SC clearance.

The candidate will maintain SUSE and Red Hat servers, both physical and virtual, and participate in migrations and transformations, including some out-of-hours work as needed.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Linux administration in enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts.
• Experience with incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, administration, and maintenance for Linux server environments (SLES/RHEL).
• Deliver operational support across live, development, and test environments.
• Perform incident resolution, problem management, and root cause analysis.
• Implement, test, and deploy infrastructure changes under change management.
• Support migration and transformation projects and automate tasks with scripts.
