Job summary

LiveLink Aerospace is seeking a Senior UAV Design Engineer to own the UAV lifecycle from concept to low-volume production, blending mechanical design with hardware integration. You will design high-performance airframes, select components, prototype rapidly, and drive manufacturing documentation.

The role demands hands-on experience with Betaflight and ArduCopter stacks, field validation, and close collaboration with RF/software teams in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 4 to 5 years of UAV experience in the unmanned aerial vehicle field.
• Ability to own the lifecycle of UAV systems from concept to low-volume production.
• Security Clearance: UK SC clearance eligibility and UK residency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical & structural design of UAV airframes and assemblies with CAD drawings.
• Select UAV components including propulsion, sensors, and flight controllers.
• Rapid prototyping using 3D printing and sheet metal processes.
• Produce BOMs and build instructions for production teams.
• System integration, wiring, soldering, and testing of flight stacks.
• Field testing and validation, diagnosing performance issues.
• Collaborate with RF and software engineers and suppliers.
