Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a skilled Sawmill Machine Operator in Yeovil, England, to handle a range of sawmill machinery from rip saws to moulders. The role offers training, development opportunities, and a holiday bonus scheme, with on-site facilities and free parking.

You will be responsible for selecting timber boards, operating multiple saws, maximizing yield, and accurately recording production data. Fluency in English and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a timber sawmill or similar manufacturing environment.
• Basic education with emphasis on maths
• Fluent spoken English
• Forklift licence advantageous
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach
• Good time-management skills to meet production deadlines

Responsibilities

• Select timber boards suited to each works order.
• Operate rip saws, bandsaws, beam saw and moulders to fulfil orders accurately and safely.
• Maximise yield from every piece of timber.
• Record sawn and machined timber on production paperwork and systems.
• Stack, band and label completed orders safely and presentably.
• Maintain a clean, organised work area.
