Job summary

Jark PLC in Ossett (near Wakefield) is seeking experienced Edge Banders / Saw Operatives to join a major manufacturing site. Ideal candidates will have worked with kitchens or furniture and be familiar with process planning sheets.

You will cut worktops to tolerances, check quality, record stock usage, and support colleagues. The role is on-site with active production schedules and requires attention to detail, good numeracy, and the ability to work to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating edge banding machines or CNC saws.
• Experience with kitchens/furniture preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience recording stock usage.
• Able to lift heavy items.
• Good at following process planning sheets.
• Willing to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC saws to cut worktops to drawings.
• Follow daily production schedule from planning sheets.
• Assist other machine operators with manual handling.
• Perform pre- and post-production quality checks.
• Record stock usage accurately.
• Minimise material wastage through efficient use.
• Complete daily operator maintenance checks.

Job description

We are looking for experienced Edge Banders / Saw Operatives to start at a major manufacturing site in Ossett.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have worked previously with Kitchens / Furniture.

Key Duties include:

• Using CNC automated saws cut worktops to tolerances as per technical drawings.
• Working from Process Planning Sheets to ensure all daily jobs on Production Schedule are completed.
• Assist other machine operators in manual handling of worktops.
• Perform pre and post quality checks of material including defects and dimensions.
• Accurate recording of stock usage on Process Planning Sheet
• Minimise stock wastage via maximisation of raw material usage.
• Operator Maintenance Daily Check Sheets 100%
