Job summary

Jark PLC in Castleford is seeking an experienced Sawperson to join a major manufacturing site. You will operate CNC automated saws to cut worktops to tolerances, following Process Planning Sheets and production schedules.

The role requires attention to detail, good numeracy and IT literacy, and the ability to lift heavy items. You will collaborate with a team and contribute to quality checks and stock control on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Experience using CNC automated saws to cut worktops to drawings.
• Experience reading and following process planning sheets.
• Ability to lift and handle heavy work.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in daily tasks.
• Good numeracy and IT literacy (basic Excel).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC saws to cut worktops to tolerances per drawings.
• Follow Production Schedule and complete daily jobs.
• Assist other operators with manual handling of worktops.
• Perform pre- and post-quality checks on materials.
• Record stock usage on the process planning sheet.
• Minimise waste by maximizing raw material usage.
• Complete maintenance daily check sheets (100%).

Job description

We are looking for experienced Sawperson to start at a major manufacturing site in Castleford.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have worked previously with Granite / Marble.

Key Duties include:

• Using CNC automated saws cut worktops to tolerances as per technical drawings.
• Working from Process Planning Sheets to ensure all daily jobs on Production Schedule are completed.
• Assist other machine operators in manual handling of worktops.
• Perform pre and post quality checks of material including defects and dimensions.
• Accurate recording of stock usage on Process Planning Sheet
• Minimise stock wastage via maximisation of raw material usage.
• Operator Maintenance Daily Check Sheets 100%
