Job summary

New Hall School is seeking a dedicated Swim Teacher for Saturdays to deliver high-quality lessons within its Swim Programme.

Reporting to the Head of Swimming, you will teach Learn to Swim and progression, assess pupil progress, maintain records, and promote safety. The role offers a supportive environment, excellent facilities, and opportunities to develop within a thriving school community.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (or above).
• Previous experience working in a School or educational environment.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Understanding of safeguarding welfare of students.
• Calm, approachable and empathetic with young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swimming lessons in line with Swim England standards.
• Develop and deliver the swimming teaching programme.
• Teach all levels of the Swim England Learn to Swim programme.
• Complete end-of-term assessments and monitor pupil progress.
• Communicate with the Head of Swimming regarding swimmer development.
• Maintain records of lessons and pupil attendance.
• Ensure safety and welfare of swimmers and helpers on poolside.
• Report damaged equipment and comply with safety policies.
