Job summary

New Hall School is seeking a dedicated Swim Teacher (Saturday) to join its thriving Swim Programme, delivering high-quality swimming lessons to students of all ages and abilities. You will report to the Head of Swimming and contribute to a well-established programme within excellent facilities, including a 25-metre indoor pool.

The role requires a Level 2 Teaching qualification (or above) and prior school experience, with strong communication and safeguarding focus.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (or above).
• Previous experience in a School or educational setting.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of students.
• Calm, approachable and empathetic demeanor with young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swimming lessons in line with Swim England standards.
• Assist in development and delivery of the school swimming programme.
• Teach Learn to Swim levels and monitor pupil progress.
• Complete end-of-term assessments and record attendance.
• Maintain safety and welfare on poolside and store equipment safely.
• Communicate with Head of Swimming and colleagues about swimmer development.

New Hall School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Swim Teacher (Saturday) to join its thriving Swim Programme, delivering high-quality swimming instruction to students of all ages and abilities. Reporting to the Head of Swimming, the successful candidate will contribute to a well-established programme that offers opportunities for swimmers to learn, develop and compete throughout the academic year, supported by excellent facilities including a 25-metre indoor swimming pool[INS: , :INS] and a dedicated team of experienced swimming professionals.

• to deliver swimming lessons in line with Swim England standards and the quality expectations of New Hall School
• to assist in the development and delivery of the swimming teaching programme
• to teach all levels of the Swim England Learn to Swim programme
• to complete end-of-term swimming assessments and monitor pupil progress
• to communicate effectively with the Head of Swimming and colleagues regarding swimmer development and achievement
• to maintain accurate records of lessons and pupil attendance
• to foster positive working relationships based on care, trust and respect
• to ensure the safety and welfare of all swimmers and helpers on the poolside
• to ensure swimming equipment is stored safely and to report damaged equipment promptly
• to comply with Health & Safety, Medical and First Aid policies and procedures
  to have a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and ethos of a Catholic independent boarding and day school
• to hold a Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (or above)
• to have previous experience of working in a School or similar educational environment
• to have excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• to demonstrate the ability to build positive and professional relationships with students, parents and staff
• to have a clear understanding of the importance of promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students
• to demonstrate a calm, approachable, and empathetic manner when working with young people

New Hall School offers an exceptional working environment. The main campus occupies the stunning Grade I listed former Tudor palace of Beaulieu. The School's conference and events venue is at the Grade I listed Boreham House, one mile away. New Hall is a warm, welcoming, and supportive community, with a staff of around 300. Beaulieu Park railway station is at the entrance to New Hall's Avenue: 30 minutes to Stratford and 38 minutes to London Liverpool Street.
