The junior sister/charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of clinical areas within the haemodialysis units. The junior sister/charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of clinical areas including assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards of quality care. To deputise for the senior sister/charge nurse in their absence when necessary. Ensuring continuity and high standards of care including sharing ideas, information and feedback in order to empower patients and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder must possess excellent communication skills and be committed to delivering safe and compassionate care. Have excellent communication skills to assist with the development and delivery of a progressive learning environment for all grades of nursing staff within the renal services. Be flexible, reliable and patient to support and train new staff to renal services. To actively promote and contribute to inter-professional learning activities across the renal service and Trust wide, and act as an effective role model for best practice nursing.

Working closely with multi-disciplinary team and renal service the post holder is responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of care to meet patient needs and objectives whilst working closely with Consultants, Senior and Lead Clinical Nurse Specialists and all bands of clinical nursing staff. The post holder will demonstrate clinical expertise in the assessment, planning, and delivery of care using a holistic approach. The post holder must be able to promote multi-disciplinary working and foster a supportive, learning environment.
