Job summary

iO Associates seeks a Satellite ISR Systems Engineer to support the design, evaluation and optimisation of space-based Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities for satellite missions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop sensing solutions, data processing architectures and mission concepts, ensuring performance across the mission lifecycle.

Candidates must be eligible for national and NATO security clearance; the role offers flexible working

Qualifications

• Experience in ISR systems for defense/space programs.
• Experience with sensor data processing and analysis.
• Knowledge of PNT dependencies in sensor systems.
• Familiarity with RF technologies used in aerospace/space applications.
• Eligible for national and NATO security clearance.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate ISR solutions for satellite platforms, including sensors, payloads, optics, mission planning and data management systems.
• Support system architecture development and technical trade-off studies.
• Define requirements and produce technical documentation.
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, validation and performance optimisation.
• Analyse sensor performance and data processing workflows.
• Collaborate with operational teams to support mission planning and ISR concept development.
• Provide technical support across the full development lifecycle.
