Job summary

Element Materials Technology operates a state-of-the-art laboratory in Surrey Hills, Guildford, where multiple Lab Technicians join the SAR Testing team. The position focuses on measuring RF energy absorption for consumer devices to meet standards and safety requirements.

This is an initial 6-month contract with a shift pattern that includes night shifts, offering hands-on testing, data gathering, and fixture maintenance in a busy lab environment.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
• HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed.
• 0-2 years’ experience in a testing related field.
• Basic understanding of testing concepts.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material specimens for testing.
• Perform tests as directed by customer specifications.
• Operate under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager.
• Gather and record test data.
• Construct and maintain various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment.

Job description

Element has opportunities for multiple Lab Technicians to join our rapidly expanding Connected Technologies business at our state-of-the laboratory in Surrey Hills, Guildford.

As a member of our Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Testing team, you will measure the rate at which energy is absorbed per unit mass by a human body when exposed to a radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field. By conducting a variety of testing assignments, you will ensure cutting edge consumer electrical devices meet specific standards and are safe for manufactures to bring to market.

Please note this is an initial 6 month contract and the lab operates in a shift pattern including night shifts.
