Job summary

Element Materials Technology in Guildford's Surrey Hills laboratory is seeking a Lab Technician for our EMC Testing team. This 6 month contract offers the chance to perform a range of testing assignments ensuring consumer electrical devices meet radio testing standards and safety requirements for market release.

You will prepare specimens, run tests per customer specs, record data, and assist with fixtures and equipment under supervision.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed.
0-2 years’ experience in a testing related field.
Basic understanding of testing concepts.
Possess computer skills.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare material specimens for testing.
Perform tests as directed by customer specifications.
Operate under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager.
Gather and record test data.
Construct and maintain various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment.
