Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space Limited seeks a Radar Systems Engineer to work with universities, SMEs and space agencies on microwave instrumentation, SAR and Earth observation missions. You’ll contribute to proposals, studies, and lifecycle design while collaborating within a small team in the Microwave Department.

The role offers progression to Project Manager, Engineering Manager, or technical expert, with flexible working and opportunities for knowledge sharing across future space missions.

Qualifications

Experience in microwave instrument design.
Detailed knowledge of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR).
Proven proposal writing and requirements gathering experience.
Ability to collaborate with Universities, SMEs and space agencies.

Responsibilities

Lead microwave instrument proposals and studies spanning up to 14 months with a focus on SAR.
Analyse, design and develop Microwave Instrument systems.
Monitor study progression and resolve technical issues; champion change management.
Ensure overall systems design aligns with customer requirements across proposal to delivery.
Coordinate peer reviews for studies, projects and proposals; support technical negotiations.
