AIRBUS Defence and Space Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to develop and evaluate Microwave Instrumentation and SAR systems for Earth observation and space missions. You will join a small, expert team within the Microwave Department.

The role offers growth opportunities, flexible working around core hours, and collaboration with universities, space agencies and industry partners, with progression to Project Manager or Engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in microwave instrument design and SAR knowledge.
• Experience with technical studies, bid processes and gathering customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead microwave instrument proposals and studies
• Analyse, design and develop Microwave Instrument systems
• Monitor study progression and resolve technical issues
• Ensure design aligns with customer requirements from proposal to delivery
• Coordinate peer reviews for studies and proposals
• Support technical, industrial negotiations with customers and with teams
