Job summary

UL Solutions in Slough SAR Lab is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform hands-on testing, write customer reports, and help maintain accreditation standards. The role is on-site at the customer site, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety science.

The candidate will set up equipment, conduct SAR tests, review plans, analyze results, and ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining documentation and records for audit purposes.

Qualifications

• HNC or Degree in Engineering or a related subject required.
• 6 months to 1 year of hands-on testing experience (SAR or RF/EMC) preferred.
• Knowledge of SAR standards (e.g. EN 50360, EN 62311, EN 50566, EN 62209-1/2, EN 50383/50385, IEEE1528, RSS 102) advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills within the organisation and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and preparing laboratory equipment for testing.
• Performing SAR testing on a variety of wireless products.
• Reviewing test plans and supporting test execution.
• Analyzing results and assisting with technical reporting.
• Maintaining laboratory accreditation, equipment, and documentation.
• Keeping project records up to date and ensuring timely delivery of customer projects.
