Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Architect to join a large-scale transformation programme in Telford. The role is hybrid, with two days a week on site, and focuses on technical leadership across a major SAP environment.

You will work with functional consultants, project managers, and third-party suppliers to translate business requirements into robust, scalable SAP solutions, owning architecture through the delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as SAP Technical Architect or SAP Solution Architect.
• Experience with high-volume SAP environments and complex architectures.
• Strong governance of large SAP implementations and sizing expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee technical architecture for complex SAP solutions.

SAP Technical Architect

We are looking for an experienced SAP Technical Architect to join a large-scale and complex transformation programme, providing technical leadership and architectural oversight across a major SAP environment.

This is a senior, customer-facing role where you will work closely with Functional Consultants, Project Managers, technical teams and third-party suppliers to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.

You will take ownership of architectural solutions throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring technical implementations remain aligned with the agreed architecture, functional requirements, non-functional requirements and wider enterprise strategy.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and overseeing technical architecture for complex SAP solutions.
• Translating business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Providing architectural governance and assurance across high-complexity SAP implementations.
• Working with project and delivery teams to define technical scope and delivery approaches.
• Supporting SAP system sizing and landscape design.
• Assessing technical and infrastructure projects for feasibility and delivery impact.
• Defining and managing Non-Functional Requirements and their technical implications.
• Ensuring technical solutions adhere to architecture standards, policies and best practice.
• Contributing to the development and refinement of Enterprise Architecture.
• Managing technical relationships with vendors and third-party suppliers.
• Providing technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams.
• Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and senior business stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an SAP Technical Architect or SAP Solution Architect.
• Strong experience working with high-volume SAP environments and complex technical architectures.
• Experience delivering large-scale Solution Architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SAP system sizing and landscape design.
• Experience governing and assuring complex SAP implementations.
• Strong understanding of both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management experience.
• Strategic, enterprise-level thinking with the ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in complex delivery environments.
