Job summary

Findel Education is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer for a maternity cover on a fixed-term contract. You will design, develop and support SAP ABAP solutions across multiple business areas, collaborating with Technology and the wider business to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes integrations, SD processes, and innovative projects including AI-driven document capture. You will work with stakeholders at all levels, troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Significant experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong knowledge of OO ABAP, enhancements and interfaces.
• Experience with integrations, APIs, web services, IDocs and EDI.
• Understanding of SAP SD processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Team-focused attitude and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced SAP ABAP Developer who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with a variety of teams, and delivering technology that makes a real impact?

We're looking for a talented SAP ABAP Developer to join our Technology team on a maternity cover contract and help us continue driving innovation across our business.

What you'll be doing

You'll play a key role in developing, supporting and enhancing our SAP environment, working closely with colleagues across Technology and the wider business to deliver high-quality solutions that improve processes and create efficiencies.

Your responsibilities will include

• Designing, developing and supporting SAP ABAP solutions across multiple business areas.
• Maintaining and enhancing integrations between SAP and other business systems.
• Supporting customer order and sales processes through effective SAP development and automation.
• Working on innovative projects, including AI-driven document capture and process improvements.
• Collaborating with Functional Analysts, Infrastructure teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.
• Supporting testing, documentation and continuous improvement activities.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a collaborative and proactive approach.

You'll ideally bring

• Significant experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented ABAP, enhancements, interfaces and SAP development best practices.
• Experience working with integrations, APIs, web services, IDocs and EDI.
• A good understanding of SAP business processes, particularly within Sales and Distribution (SD).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• The confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels and explain technical concepts clearly.
• A positive, team-focused attitude and a passion for continuous improvement.
