Job summary

Charles River is seeking a Sample Management Technician for our Safety Assessment Group in Elphinstone, Tranent. This role does not require a degree. You will barcode samples, track with LIMS, manage discrepancies, and support technical lab activities for client studies.

You’ll follow SOPs, document steps for auditability, and maintain data accuracy while contributing to team efforts in a lab environment. Training and progression are provided.

Qualifications

• Interest in working in a laboratory environment.
• A desire to work as part of a team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Good basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to learn new processes.

Responsibilities

• Barcode labelling of samples received from Clinical studies.
• Using LIMS system to track samples received from Clinical studies.
• Sample discrepancy management.
• Assist in the conduct of technical laboratory activities in support of client studies or procedures.
• Follow written instructions (SOPs, protocols) and document details of steps carried out to ensure compliance through recreation of events
• Record data in compliance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.
• Quality control checking and other administrative tasks as required.
