Do you know and love Dorset? Got a knack for chatting to people and making things happen?

We’re on the hunt for a freelance sales person to join the team at The BV – the award-winning digital magazine at the heart of rural Dorset.

This isn’t a 9-to-5. You’ll be working from home, setting your own hours to suit your life – whether that’s school runs, dog walks, or that mid-morning yoga class. What matters is that you’re self-motivated, well-organised and love connecting with businesses.

Here’s what we’re after:

  • A people person – someone who genuinely enjoys a chat and builds great relationships
  • Sales experience – any sector is fine, as long as you’ve done it and done it well
  • Knows rural Dorset – our heartland isn’t the busy coast, but the farms, villages, market towns and countryside communities in between. You don’t need to live here, but you do need to understand it
  • Understands digital – you don’t need to be a techie, but you should know how social media works (and see why ours performs), be confident talking about CTRs and engagement rates, and understand why those numbers matter to advertisers
  • No classifieds here – this is all about display advertising and building meaningful relationships with local businesses. We don’t do small ads – just quality campaigns with real impact

This is a part-time freelance role, initially commission-based, with room to grow into a full-time position. You’ll have support from a genuinely lovely team: we’re fun to work with (promise!), and you’ll be part of something meaningful – helping local businesses thrive and telling the stories that matter to our community.
