Salesforce & MuleSoft Technical Delivery Manager

Description

DeterTech's purpose is giving greater peace of mind to people and communities, every day – and that depends on Salesforce and integration changes landing smoothly and reliably. This role owns the technical delivery plan for the Salesforce & MuleSoft team and coordinates the team to execute it, turning priorities into realistic plans, and plans into delivered work.

Working closely with the Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager and the Salesforce Technical Lead, you'll bring the structure, coordination and technical credibility needed to keep a growing team delivering predictably and safely. You will act as the direct counterpart to the ARC Technical Delivery Manager, orchestrating cross-system releases, API dependencies, and environment synchronisation between our in-house Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC/DTCommand) software ecosystem and our core business systems (Salesforce Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud Next, Service Cloud, Field Service, MuleSoft, Finance and Manufacturing systems).

Please note that this is a hybrid role, with an expectation for candidates to work from the office approximately one day per week.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery planning and coordination

• Create and maintain realistic technical delivery plans, dependencies and milestones across Salesforce and integration workstreams.
• Coordinate resource and workload across technical specialists, including administrators, analysts and integration specialists.
• Facilitate delivery ceremonies (planning, stand‑ups, reviews, sprint retrospectives, and backlog refinement) appropriate to the team's ways of working.
• Implement lean, modern Agile execution frameworks (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Linear), driving sprint cadence, backlog hygiene, estimation accuracy, and predictable sprint delivery.
• Work closely with the Salesforce Lead and Solution Analyst to ensure user stories have clear acceptance criteria and are properly prepared before entering active sprints.

2. Risk and dependency management

• Own RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) and responsibility matrices (RACI) tracking for Salesforce/MuleSoft delivery.
• Proactively identify and resolve blockers, escalating early and clearly where needed.
• Work hand‑in‑hand with the ARC Technical Delivery Manager to manage shared release dependencies, keeping ARC platform updates, mobile app releases, MuleSoft APIs, and Salesforce changes aligned.
• Report delivery status clearly and honestly to the Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager and wider stakeholders.
• Keep capacity and delivery plans aligned by working closely with the Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager.
• Provide clear, open progress updates to commercial and operational teams, including Sales, Customer Success, Field Operations, and Finance.

3. Technical oversight of delivery

• Maintain enough technical understanding of Salesforce development/release lifecycles and integration delivery to challenge estimates and facilitate technical decisions, rather than purely project‑managing.
• Work with the Salesforce Technical Lead and Integration Lead to sequence work sensibly across the team.
• Support sound release management and deployment governance.
• Oversee deployment pipelines, environment branching, and sandboxes using modern Salesforce release tools (such as Copado / Copado AI) to ensure releases are smooth, traceable, and repeatable.
• Partner closely with the QA / Test Analyst to establish structured testing checkpoints (unit, regression, integration, and user acceptance) to catch defects early and protect live business systems.
• Ensure every release follows company change control, data protection (GDPR), and information security standards.

4. Practical delivery improvements

• Regularly review how the team delivers, finding practical ways to remove bottlenecks, cut down deployment delays, and reduce bugs after release.
• Lead post‑release reviews after deployment issues to identify root causes and stop the same problems happening again.
• Encourage a collaborative, supportive team environment where technical quality is valued and delivery expectations are realistic.

5. Stakeholder communication

• Report delivery status clearly and honestly to the Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager and wider stakeholders.
• Keep capacity and delivery plans aligned by working closely with the Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Proven technical delivery management experience, ideally across Salesforce or integration programmes.
• Able to create and maintain realistic technical delivery plans, dependencies and milestones.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce development/release lifecycles and integration delivery.
• Experience coordinating resource and workload across technical specialists.
• Risk, dependency, blocker and RAID/RACI management experience.
• Sufficiently technical to challenge estimates, understand dependencies and facilitate technical decisions rather than purely project-manage.
• Experience coordinating delivery across projects that connect Salesforce (Sales, Service, or Field Service) through middleware (MuleSoft) to back‑office systems.
• Practical understanding of modern release tools, version control (Git), and deployment pipelines (such as Copado, Copado AI, or Azure DevOps).
• Hands‑on experience running Agile/Scrum meetings and managing team backlogs.

Desirable

• Experience with MuleSoft or a similar integration platform's delivery lifecycle.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience or recognised project/delivery credentials (e.g. Scrum Master CSM/PSM, AgilePM).
• Experience guiding testing scope and collaborating closely with a QA / Test Analyst within a delivery lifecycle.
• Experience working in technology, security, field operations, or IoT environments.
