Job description

Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager

Department: IT

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: UK

Reporting To: Ed Haynes

Compensation: £95,000 - £110,000 / year

Description

DeterTech's purpose is giving greater peace of mind to people and communities, every day – and our CRM and integration platforms are central to how we deliver on that promise for our customers. This role owns the Salesforce & Integration function from a people, capacity, operational and management perspective, building a well-structured, motivated team as it grows.

The Salesforce & MuleSoft Manager will work closely with the Salesforce & MuleSoft Technical Delivery Manager, who owns technical delivery planning, so that people, capacity and delivery plans stay aligned. This is a foundational hire for the function and will be closely involved in recruiting and shaping the rest of the team.
Please note that this is a hybrid role, with an expectation for candidates to work from the office approximately one day per week.

Key Responsibilities
1. Team leadership and people management
  • Line-manage the Salesforce & Integration team, holding regular 1:1s and taking ownership of development and performance management.
  • Build a high-performing, well-structured team as it grows, playing an active role in recruiting and shaping future roles.
  • Support team members' career growth, recognising strong contribution and addressing performance concerns constructively and fairly.
2. Capacity and resource planning
  • Own resource and capacity planning across Salesforce/CRM and integration workstreams, balancing business-as-usual support, project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Translate organisational priorities into clear team priorities, cascading direction so everyone understands what matters most and why.
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce Lead to validate that platform roadmap goals, architectural initiatives, and technical debt remediations are allocated appropriate capacity alongside new commercial feature delivery.
3. Stakeholder management and governance
  • Act as the primary point of contact representing the Salesforce & Integration function to senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Work closely with the Salesforce & MuleSoft Technical Delivery Manager to keep people/capacity plans aligned with technical delivery plans.
  • Maintain oversight of platform governance, licensing and vendor relationships for Salesforce and MuleSoft.
  • Partner with the Salesforce Lead to establish, enforce, and resource robust data governance, security policies, compliance standards, and modern DevOps practices—championing AI-powered release management, automated testing, and CI/CD tools to accelerate release velocity safely.
4. Strategic Platform Oversight & Continuous Improvement
  • Champion platform-wide continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives that leverage DeterTech's Salesforce and MuleSoft platforms.
  • Review strategic platform KPIs (adoption rates, system stability, delivery throughput, and data quality metrics) to evaluate overall platform ROI and report progress back to executive leadership.
  • Oversee third-party application evaluation (AppExchange), external consultancies, and vendor contracts alongside IT leadership.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Previous experience managing a Salesforce/CRM team.
  • A strong working understanding of Salesforce and integration technologies/MuleSoft – you don't need to be the hands-on architect, but you need to understand the platform well enough to lead the team that is.
  • Proven resource and capacity planning experience.
  • People management experience, including 1:1s, development and performance management.
  • Able to translate organisational priorities into team priorities and cascade information effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to represent the function upwards, working closely with the Technical Delivery Manager.
  • Proven ability to partner with technical leads to turn high-level strategic roadmaps into operational resourcing and delivery plans.
  • Strong experience of Salesforce platform governance, data security principles, and enterprise change management.
Desirable
  • Experience growing or scaling a Salesforce/CRM or integration team from a small base.
  • Familiarity with MuleSoft or a comparable integration platform.
  • Experience in a technology, security or field-service-led business.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce certification tracks to guide team development effectively.
  • Understanding of modern Salesforce DevOps architectures and AI-driven release management platforms (e.g., Copado / Copado AI)
