Job Description

White Label Recruitment is currently partnering with a well-established engineering company seeking a Sales Engineer with hands-on experience in their Mechanical Seals division. This hybrid role combines technical work with proactive business development and account management. The company is also open to training individuals transitioning from engineer roles into sales.

Overview

This position is ideal for someone with experience in mechanical seals and rotating equipment who enjoys practical work and customer-facing sales. Responsibilities include identifying new business, managing key accounts, and owning the sales cycle from consultation to seal installation and after-sales support.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell sealing solutions: mechanical seals, hydraulic seals, packings, gaskets, coatings.
  • Allocate approximately 40% of time to account management and 60% to business development.
  • Identify, prospect, and convert leads into customers.
  • Perform hands-on tasks such as assessing pump or seal failures on-site, removing failed components, analyzing damage, and recommending replacements.
  • Create technical failure reports for clients.
  • Oversee or assist with the installation of sealing solutions.
  • Maintain and grow relationships across sectors like power, petrochemical, water, pulp and paper, and steel.
  • Liaise with clients at all levels, from engineers to executives.
  • Support colleagues in quoting and sales processes.
  • Generate monthly reports on sales and market conditions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for service delivery.

Personal Profile (Desirable Skills & Qualities)

  • Sales experience with strong technical knowledge and rapport-building skills.
  • Background in mechanical engineering, rotating equipment, or seals.
  • Comfortable with practical tasks and commercial discussions.
  • Strong business development skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical failures and produce client reports.
  • Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-managed, independent worker who meets deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
  • Full UK driving license or equivalent.
