PHL UK Ltd is seeking a Sales Executive/Sales Representative to sell new and used forklifts, material handling equipment and plant machinery across the UK and overseas. You will speak to customers by phone, email and face to face, preparing quotations and following up leads.

Training is provided, no forklift experience is required, and you will join a busy team in Basingstoke. The role offers a salary between £25,600 and £34,500 per year, with 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, a

ABOUT THE ROLE

Do you enjoy talking to customers and helping them find the right product? We are looking for a friendly, organised Sales Executive / Sales Representative to sell new and used forklifts, material handling equipment and plant machinery to customers across the UK and overseas.

You will speak to customers by phone, email and face to face, prepare quotations and follow up sales leads. You do not need forklift experience. We provide full product and forklift training, and you will learn from an experienced team.

ABOUT PHL UK LTD

PHL is one of Europe's largest forklift truck wholesalers. We prepare and sell forklifts and material handling equipment to customers worldwide from a busy and growing site in Basingstoke, Hampshire with nearly 1,000 machines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Speak with customers regularly by phone, email and face to face.
• Sell new and used forklifts and material handling equipment in the UK and overseas.
• Respond to customer enquiries and follow up sales leads.
• Prepare quotations and follow them up with customers.
• Build good relationships with existing customers and find new ones.
• Keep accurate customer and sales records on our CRM and other systems.
• Learn about our stock and the different types of equipment.
• Work closely with our marketing, transport and workshop teams.
• Work towards sales targets and build your own customer base.

WHO THIS ROLE SUITS

Experience from any of these areas would be a good fit: sales, internal or inside sales, account management, business development, telesales, customer service, trade counter, plant hire, machinery or engineering. Experience of selling to businesses (B2B) is a bonus, but it is not essential.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The most important thing is finding the right person, so we will train you in everything about our products.

Essential

• Good spoken and written English, because you will deal with customers by phone and email every day.
• Confidence speaking to customers on the phone.
• Comfortable using computers, including email, Word and Excel, and happy to learn new software such as a CRM system.
• Well organised, with good attention to detail when preparing quotations.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Keen to learn about our products and the industry.
• The right to work in the UK.

Useful, but not essential

• Previous sales experience in any field.
• Experience in machinery, plant, engineering or industrial equipment.
• Experience using a CRM system, such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
