Novax Recruitment Group is seeking a Sales Manager for a structural steel fabricator in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. You will develop new business, grow existing client relationships and win profitable work by understanding projects and driving commercial discussions to align with delivery capacity.
You'll engage with contractors, developers and engineers, qualify opportunities, and collaborate with estimating, engineering and project teams to ensure what is sold can be delivered.
Selling steel isn't about sending out a few quotes and waiting for the phone to ring.
You need to understand what you're selling, who can deliver it, what makes a project commercially worthwhile and how to turn a conversation with a client into steel leaving the fabrication yard.
That's where you come in.
We're looking for a Sales Manager with experience working for a structural steel fabricator to develop relationships, identify new opportunities and bring profitable work into the business.
You'll be responsible for developing new business while looking after and growing existing client relationships.
You'll be speaking with contractors, developers, engineers and other industry contacts, understanding upcoming projects and getting the business involved early enough to compete for the work.
You'll identify opportunities, qualify enquiries and work closely with estimating, engineering and project teams to make sure what's being sold is something the business can deliver successfully.
You'll also stay close to clients throughout the process, building relationships that lead to repeat business rather than treating every project as a one-off transaction.
You’ll be selling something you actually understand.
Your steelwork experience means you can have meaningful conversations with clients, understand the challenges behind their projects and work with the internal team to put forward realistic, commercially viable solutions.
There’s also plenty of scope to make your mark, developing new relationships, opening doors to new projects and helping grow the order book rather than simply managing an existing sales pipeline.
If you’ve built your sales career inside a structural steel fabricator and know how to turn industry relationships into profitable projects, this could be worth a conversation.
