Job summary

Softcat is offering a 12-month Sales Internship Programme in multiple UK locations including Manchester and London. Starting 5 July 2027, you will join a hands-on team and work on real projects, gaining exposure to the full sales cycle and making a tangible impact during your placement year.

Responsibilities

• Working as part of a Sales Intern team, supporting SMB customers in Corporate and Public Sector with their technology requirements.
• Developing knowledge of key sales functions, including new business development and account management.
• Learning about Softcat and its technology products, and how they can benefit businesses.
• Building sales skills such as communication, customer management and relationship building.
• Working towards team targets and KPIs with the opportunity to earn bonus payments.
• Collaborating with other Softcat interns on group projects.

• Salary: £22,000 plus bonus potential
• Locations: Manchester, Marlow, London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle and South Coast *relocation may be required depending on role location

About the Sales Department

As the largest department, Sales is crucial to our business goals, strategy, and award-winning customer service. This department prides itself on its vibrant culture, strong teamwork and opportunities for personal growth and development. Our sales department consists of our Corporate Sector and Public Sector Sales teams, and our past interns have worked across both areas.

As a Sales Intern you'll be:

• Working as part of a Sales Intern team, you will be supporting our SMB customers in Corporate and Public Sector with their technology requirements

What we're looking for:

• A current undergraduate University student studying in the UK/Ireland in your penultimate year, from any degree discipline
• Passionate about technology & sales
• Excellent communication, relationship building and team work skills
• A motivated self‑starter, with the resilience and drive to achieve against targets
• Demonstrate an alignment to our Softcat values & inclusive culture

How does our internship recruitment process work?

Our process consists of four stages, Application > One-Way Video Interview > Virtual Assessment Centre > Final Stage Panel Interview.

Initially we're reviewing you for our Sales area, assessing your Softcat fit, passion for this area and transferable skills. Once you reach our Assessment Centre's, we'll reveal more information about the specific Sales roles. You'll then interview specifically for your aligned role at your final stage panel interview.
