Job summary

Cingularity is a highly specialised global fibre network provider delivering premium live broadcast TV transmission. In September 2022 Cingularity was acquired by IMG Media. The company supports major broadcasters, sports rights holders and event organisers with contributions and distribution services worldwide.

The Role

We are seeking a Sales Engineer with a broadcast background to support Cingularity’s growth and client uptake. You will engage with clients from initial contact to project initiation, identifying technical requirements, designing solutions and coordinating across sales, engineering and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and design appropriate solutions in line with Cingularity's offerings by collaborating with customers, the sales team and engineering.
  • Develop revenue‑generating solutions that align with customers' requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Grow and maintain healthy customer relationships, deepening understanding of their business and technology strategy.
  • Document solutions, including technical documentation, solution diagrams and drawings, for end customers and internal teams.
  • Engage regularly with suppliers and vendors for proposals, quoting and final bill of materials.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for all questions, contributing to RFI/RFP responses and creating white papers.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team throughout the sales cycle and take ownership of solution design.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to ensure all solutions are supportable.
  • Assist in solution and service project initiation, and support further documentation of bespoke customer solutions working with project management as needed.
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge, continually improving and innovating designs and solutions.
  • Provide technical training to the sales team, enabling them to be more effective.
  • Deliver presentations and hands‑on demonstrations as required.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience designing solutions in one or more of the following domains:
    • Global telecommunications.
    • Video IP delivery and data transmission – contribution and distribution.
    • Broadcast services, sports and event broadcasting.
  • Excellent working knowledge of telecommunications service providers’ products, technologies, markets and business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly technical solutions, comprehend customer requirements and document them.
  • Expertise in video media processing (encoding/decoding) with solid understanding of industry standard codecs (MPEG, JPEG 2000, JPEG XS).
  • Familiarity with transmission and monitoring equipment: encoders, decoders, video routers, DA’s, IP gateways, multiviewers and transport‑stream monitoring.
  • Knowledge of the Net Insight portfolio, including experience on the MSR platform, is highly advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of broadcast environments, workflows and broadcast IP technologies (SMPTE standards, switching, routing and multicast).
  • Knowledge of SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) delivery and its use for low‑latency video contribution and distribution over unmanaged IP networks.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visio, OmniGraffle or similar applications for solution design.
  • Experience with Office 365 or G‑Suite, with excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM and opportunity‑tracking software is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated rapid learning of new tools and emerging technologies.
  • 5+ years working as a Sales Engineer or similar, ideally with a degree or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, able to articulate how the solution meets prospects and customers’ needs.
  • Ability to present complex technical solutions simply, to stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds, including top management and senior executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a big‑picture perspective.
  • Self‑motivated and organised, ready to thrive in a start‑up environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on multiple proposals and projects simultaneously, with multitasking and task‑tracking skills.
Working Conditions
  • Permanent full‑time role.
  • Base office at 28 Hanbury Street, London, E1 6QR, with some flexibility to work from home.
