Coats Recruitment Limited is seeking a Sales Engineer in the West Midlands region. The role combines engineering knowledge with customer-facing activities, focusing on understanding technical requirements and proposing suitable solutions.

You will prepare quotations, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and work to convert enquiries into orders while building strong customer relationships. CAD skills and effective communication with internal teams are essential.

Formación

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing or a technical environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and technical drawings.
• CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks or similar.
• Confident communicating with customers and internal departments.
• Experience in sales, technical sales, internal sales, customer support, estimating or quotations would be beneficial.

Salary: Up to £40,000 + benefits

I'm recruiting for an established engineering and manufacturing business looking to appoint a Sales Engineer to join its team.

This is a varied position combining engineering knowledge, customer relationships and commercial activity. The role would suit someone with an engineering background who enjoys dealing with customers, providing technical advice and developing business opportunities.

The Role:

• Handle incoming customer enquiries and understand their technical requirements.
• Provide technical advice and recommend suitable products and engineering solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and technical information.
• Work alongside engineering and production teams to develop customer solutions.
• Produce and amend technical drawings using CAD software.
• Follow up quotations and help convert enquiries into orders.
• Build relationships with existing customers and identify new business opportunities.
• Support order processing and keep customers updated throughout.

About You:

• Experience within engineering, manufacturing or a technical environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and technical drawings.
• CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks or similar.
• Confident communicating with customers and internal departments.
• Experience in sales, technical sales, internal sales, customer support, estimating or quotations would be beneficial.
• Commercially aware, organised and keen to develop.

Previous Sales Engineer experience isn't essential. The business is open to candidates with relevant engineering knowledge and transferable customer-facing experience who are looking to develop their commercial skills.

What's on Offer:

• Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience.
• 34 days' holiday, including bank holidays, plus your birthday.
• Monday–Thursday: 7:30am–4pm.
• Friday: 7:30am–1pm.
