Job summary

Lovey is recruiting a Sales Development Representative for a permanent, full-time, Birmingham City Centre role based in the office. The position offers a base salary of £25,000–£30,000 per year plus a guaranteed £400 monthly commission and a £600 quarterly performance bonus, with progression to an Account Manager role and uncapped commissions.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Lead Generation: Manage, quote and convert inbound business finance enquiries; make outbound calls to warm leads and prospects; identify opportunities and develop relationships; follow up to maximise conversion; build a strong pipeline of new business.
• Business Development: Contribute to targeted sales and business development campaigns; identify opportunities to grow the customer base; support networking and promotional activities; develop a strong understanding of products and the SME finance market.
• Operational & Compliance: Follow all procedures; ensure customer information is handled accurately; apply fraud prevention and risk management processes; maintain high standards throughout the customer journey.

As a Sales Development Representative, you'll receive comprehensive training, ongoing coaching and hands‑on support to help you develop your commercial skills and succeed in a fast‑paced sales environment.

You don't need previous sales experience. We're much more interested in your attitude, ambition and willingness to learn.

For high performers, progression into an Account Manager role can happen within 6-12 months, with realistic earning potential of £80,000+.

Your Responsibilities

Sales & Lead Generation

• Manage, quote and convert inbound business finance enquiries
• Make outbound calls to warm leads and prospects within our existing database
• Identify opportunities and develop relationships with potential customers
• Follow up consistently to maximise conversion opportunities
• Build a strong pipeline of new business

Business Development

• Contribute to targeted sales and business development campaigns
• Identify opportunities to grow our customer base
• Support networking and promotional activities to increase brand awareness
• Develop a strong understanding of our products and the wider SME finance market

Operational & Compliance

• Follow all operational, credit and compliance procedures
• Ensure customer information is handled accurately and professionally
• Apply fraud prevention and risk management processes consistently
• Maintain high standards throughout the customer journey

How You’ll Be Measured

You’ll have clear targets and KPIs, with a strong focus on:

• Revenue Growth: Achieving targeted fee income and lending volumes
• New Business: Maintaining consistent prospecting and lead generation activity
• Conversion: Turning opportunities into successful customers
• KPI Performance: Consistently meeting or exceeding agreed targets
• Cross‑Selling: Identifying opportunities across our wider product range
• Team Performance: Contributing positively to the wider Sales team’s success
