Job description

About StoneShot

StoneShot is a marketing technology company helping financial services firms deliver compliant, personalised and measurable client communications.

About StoneShot

StoneShot is a marketing technology company helping financial services firms deliver compliant, personalised and measurable client communications. Trusted by investment managers, private banks and other financial institutions worldwide, our platform enables sophisticated email marketing, events, automation and digital client engagement in highly regulated environments. The way financial services firms measure digital engagement is changing. New regulatory developments and evolving privacy requirements are forcing marketing teams to rethink how they measure campaign success and engage clients. StoneShot has built solutions that help firms adapt, creating a genuine opportunity to lead the conversation in the market. We're building our demand generation capability, and we're looking for a Sales Development Representative to turn that market opportunity into qualified sales conversations. This is an opportunity to join an established SaaS business with an international client base at a pivotal point in its growth, and to build a career in enterprise SaaS sales alongside people who will actively coach you.

The opportunity

Most SDR roles start from nothing. This one doesn't. Our campaigns already generate substantial engagement from prospects at the firms we want to sell to – people clicking our content, registering for our webinars, and reading about regulatory change because it affects them directly. Until now, nobody has been dedicated to following those signals up. That’s the job: turn interest that already exists into meetings our sellers want to take and add outbound prospecting into named target accounts on top of it. Working closely with our marketing, product and leadership teams, you'll engage senior marketing, digital and commercial leaders at investment managers, private banks and insurers across the UK, Europe and North America. Buying committees at this level are large and cycles are long, so success comes from research and relevance rather than from working through a list at speed. You’ll need to move quickly and write like someone who understands the recipient's problem. If you enjoy asking good questions, building relationships with senior people and want a defined path into enterprise sales, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Engagement Follow-Up Work every meaningful engagement signal – content clicks, webinar and event registrations, diagnostic requests – within 48 hours.
  • Prioritise by account fit and signal strength rather than working the list chronologically.
  • Feed signal quality back to Marketing: what produces conversations and what produces noise.
Outbound Prospecting
  • Run personalised, multi-touch sequences by email, LinkedIn and telephone into named target accounts.
  • Maintain sequence discipline so that contacts progress through a defined cadence.
  • Write outreach that references the prospect’s actual situation – regulatory pressure, platform incumbency, recent organisational change – rather than templated product language.
Account Research
  • Research target accounts: divisional structure, marketing technology in use, regulatory exposure and recent change events.
  • Map buying committees across marketing, digital, compliance and procurement, and identify realistic entry points.
  • Support account-based campaigns with personalised outreach aligned to campaign themes.
Qualification and Handover
  • Qualify inbound and marketing-generated enquiries against agreed criteria before booking.
  • Book discovery meetings with senior marketing, digital and commercial leaders.
  • Hand over with a written brief covering the signal, the account context, the stated problem and who else is involved.
CRM and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate, current records in Salesforce covering activity, sequence status and meeting outcomes.
  • Produce the weekly numbers for our Monday growth meeting.
Collaboration
  • Work with our Growth Marketing Manager to improve targeting, messaging and conversion.
  • Share market feedback that refines campaigns and positioning.
About You
  • One to two years in an outbound role – SDR, BDR, inside sales, or a credible adjacent such as recruitment – with evidence of meetings you generated yourself.
  • Written English strong enough to email a Head of Marketing at a private bank. We assess this at application stage.
  • Confidence on the telephone with senior people, and resilience about it.
  • Enough organisation to run sequences to completion without being chased.
  • Genuine interest in privacy, regulation and how marketing measurement is changing.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
  • Experience selling into financial services or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Exposure to account-based marketing.
  • A second European language.

You won't need existing martech or SaaS product knowledge. We’ll teach you that.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured by the quality and consistency of the qualified opportunities you create for our commercial team. Once you’re up to speed, we’re looking for around 15 discovery meetings booked and 10 held each month, converting into qualified opportunities our sales team takes forward. We'll get you there deliberately. Month one is product, market and shadowing live discovery calls. Month two you’re running your own sequences. Month three you’re close to full targets. Nobody expects the numbers on day one.

You’ll Know You’re Succeeding When You Are
  • Consistently booking high‑quality discovery meetings with senior decision makers.
  • Converting marketing‑generated engagement into qualified opportunities.
  • Building relationships across buying committees rather than single contacts.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM data and reliable pipeline reporting.
  • Working with Marketing and Sales to continuously improve conversion.
Why Join StoneShot
  • A defined path to Account Executive. From around month nine, strong performers take a segment of smaller accounts to close themselves while our enterprise sellers move further up‑market – so by the time the title changes, you’re already doing the work. Realistically an 18 to 24 month conversation, based on criteria we’ll set out at interview.
  • Real coaching. Daily sessions with your manager during your first weeks, weekly one‑to‑ones throughout, and a seat in our commercial meetings from day one.
  • Warm engagement to work from the start, rather than a cold list and a phone.
  • Help financial services firms navigate one of the biggest changes in digital marketing measurement and privacy.
  • Join an established SaaS business where your ideas can quickly become action, without layers of management slowing things down.
  • Sell technology used by leading financial services firms across the UK, Europe and North America.
Our Tech Stack
You’ll Work With Tools Including
  • StoneShot
  • Salesforce
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Apollo and Lusha
  • AI-powered sales, research and productivity tools
Information Security & Compliance

You’ll be responsible for handling prospect and customer information securely and in line with StoneShot’s information security policies. All outreach and processing of personal data must comply with relevant legislation, including GDPR, UK GDPR, EU GDPR, PECR, ePrivacy and other applicable privacy regulations. We hold our own prospecting to the standard we sell to our clients.
