Job summary

Smyths Toys is seeking enthusiastic Sales Assistants for their new store in Oldham. This temporary contract offers competitive pay, with a rate of £12.90 for over 21s and £11.00 for under 21s. You will be part of a dynamic team, providing excellent customer service and maintaining store presentation.

The ideal candidate should have a background in retail, though not essential. This role demands flexibility, especially during the training period prior to opening.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in Nursery, Software & Gaming, or Backdoor/Warehouse is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service.
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants.
• Work as part of a fast paced and dynamic team.
• Keep the store clean and tidy.
• Pack shelves and merchandise.
• Work delivery and complete price changes.

About The Role

This is a temporary contract, with a rate of pay of £12.90 per hour for over 21 and £11.00 per hour for under 21.

The Ideal Candidate

Retail experience in the following areas is highly desirable, but not essential:

• Nursery
• Software & Gaming
• Backdoor/Warehouse

Our stores are open 7 days a week so we need our Sales Assistants to be as flexible as possible.
As you will be joining one of our new stores, you will be expected to work increased hours in order to complete your training prior to your official store opening.
Initially, you will be hired on a temporary basis to give you the opportunity to see if you enjoy this fast paced world of retail.
