Job summary

Smyths Toys is hiring a Sales Assistant for our Leeds Crown Point store. You will deliver friendly customer service, help customers find what they need, and support a dynamic team in a busy retail environment.

This temporary role offers hourly pay, with different rates for over and under 21, and requires flexibility to cover seven-day opening hours. You’ll learn product ranges and assist with tills, stock and store presentation to create a great shopping experience.

• Experience in delivering customer service in fast-paced environments.
• Able to work as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

About The Role

This is a temporary contract, with a rate of pay of £12.90 per hour for over 21 and £11.00 per hour for under 21.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
• Work as part of a fast paced and dynamic team
• Keep the store clean and tidy
• Pack shelves and merchandise
• Work delivery and complete price changes
• Work on the tills
• Learn about and keep up to date with our products in order to help customers

The Ideal Candidate

Retail experience in the following areas is highly desirable, but not essential:

• Nursery
• Software & Gaming
• Backdoor/Warehouse

Our stores are open 7 days a week so we need our Sales Assistants to be as flexible as possible.
