Job summary

Yorkshire Trading Company Ltd is seeking a part-time Sales Assistant for our York store. The role is 16 hours over 4 days, including weekends on a rota, with potential early shifts. You will help deliver high-quality customer service and support store operations.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing sales on our till system, stocking shelves, and maintaining store standards. The position offers 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata and a 12.5% discount after a 6-week induction

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Maintain store condition and visual merchandising standards.
• Keep store fully stocked and organized.
• Identify customers’ needs and assist accordingly.
• Greet customers and assist with queries.
• Process sales through the Epos till system (training provided).
• Assist with receiving deliveries.
• Keep product information up to date.
• Describe product features and benefits accurately.
• Follow company policies and procedures.

Yorkshire Trading Company are a family owned and run business with 42 stores throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East; a busy E:Commerce operation and outdoor events teams who trade nationwide.

We now have an opportunity for an additional recruit to the sales assistant team in our store at York.

The position offered is: 16 hours over 4 days to include weekends on a rota basis and may include some early mornings

Our goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase the company’s growth and revenue through sales maximisation

Responsibilities:

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
• Maintain a fully stocked store
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
• Welcome and greet customers
• Process sales through our Epos till system - Training given
• Actively involved in receiving deliveries
• Keep up to date with product information
• Accurately describe product features and benefits
• Follow all companies policies and procedures
• 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
• 12.5% Discount at YTC Stores after a successful 6 week induction period
