Job summary

Plumb Centre in Spalding is seeking a Sales Assistant to join the team at our local branch. You will serve customers at the trade counter, understand their needs, and recommend products while supporting stock handling and deliveries within a 30-mile radius.

This full-time role runs 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 1 in 4 Saturdays (8:00am–12:00pm) paid as overtime. We offer a salary of £26,695 plus bonus and extensive benefits including generous pension, annual leave, maternity/adoption

Qualifications

• Prior customer service or sales experience.
• Willingness to learn with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Confidence engaging with customers face-to-face and over the phone.
• Proactive sales promoting, quoting accurately, and building relationships over the phone.
• Full UK Driving Licence (UK)

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Book stock in and place it in the designated location.
• Proactively contact customers to build relationships and drive branch growth.
• Relief driving a 3.5T van during driver holidays, delivering within a 30 mile radius.

As a Sales Assistant based in our Spalding branch you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Booking stock in and putting it away in the designated location
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch growth, particularly focusing on those with reduced or inactive spending.
• Relief driving 3.5T van when driver on holiday, doing deliveries within a 30 mile radius

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Weekend working required 1 in 4 Saturdays, 8:00am to 12:00pm, paid as overtime.
