Job summary

Plumb Centre in Walton-on-Thames (part of Wolseley Group) is seeking a Sales Assistant to provide expert customer service at the trade counter and support branch sales.

The role requires face-to-face sales experience, teamwork, and a proactive attitude. You will handle customer inquiries, assist with warehouse tasks, and help maintain branch standards in a full-time position.

Qualifications

• Previous Face to Face customer service/sales experience is essential.
• Prior industry or trade experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to work as a part of a team and to take on a diverse role.
• Proactive and eager to learn, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending.
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch.
