Summary
Established in 1949, our client provides excellence in technical panel fabrication with bespoke manufacturing of decorative panels across HPL, SGL and melamine surfaces, and have built and maintained long-term trusted partnerships with leading laminate suppliers. They believe in continuous improvement to ensure they deliver a first-class service to their customers through investment in the latest operational machinery and processes.
They are now recruiting for a Sales Account Executive as they continue to expand and evolve business activities, with the opportunity for the successful applicant to grow professionally alongside the business.
Reporting to the General Manager, as a key member of the commercial team, this role will be responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues across departments to identify and capitalise on sales opportunities, thereby directly supporting the companys strategic objectives and contributing to the annual sales budget. This role will maintain and increase sales revenues in the laboratory, education and associated markets, principally relating to timber composite panels and systems, and will be pivotal in building strong client relationships, managing enquiries and supporting the end-to-end sales process, from initial contact through to order fulfilment.
Responsibilities Include
Customer Engagement & Sales Generation
- Actively promote the companys products and services using effective communication skills to secure new business and maintain existing accounts through a relationship-driven approach.
- Maintain a consultative sales strategy that focuses on understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Liaise with architects, designers, local authorities, and other specifiers to provide technical and commercial support, positioning the company as a preferred supplier.
Pricing & Enquiry Management
- Handle pricing enquiries from specific market sectors with a clear understanding of variable margins, ensuring quotations are competitive yet profitable.
- Support the estimation process for bespoke and three-dimensional products when requested by the broader sales team.
Order Processing & Project Management
- Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings to produce accurate sales orders, ensuring all documentation is complete for production planning and manufacturing teams.
- Oversee the full order lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate execution of customer requirements.
CRM & Sales Tools
- Input, update, and manage customer and sales information in the companys Dynamics 365 CRM system, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
- Generate and maintain accurate sales forecasts and performance data to support strategic decision-making.
Market Awareness & Product Knowledge
- Stay informed of market trends, competitive activity, new product applications, and promotional strategies by engaging with technical literature and internal resources.
- Apply technical knowledge of the product range to respond confidently to customer queries and deliver product presentations when required.
Reporting & Budgeting
- Provide comprehensive monthly sales reports, both written and verbal, detailing individual and overall performance in relation to targets and budget expectations.
- Contribute to the formulation of annual sales budgets and revenue targets within your assigned market sector, using data-driven insights.
Customer Service & Issue Resolution
- Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns swiftly and effectively, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and service.
- Serve as a key point of contact for customer queries, ensuring a positive experience throughout the sales cycle.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures, including compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality, environmental, and safety standards.
Essential
Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Business Management, Marketing or related fields, or equivalent worked experience
- Demonstratable experience in a sales and/or customer facing role
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborative team player with a hands-on attitude and comfortable collaborating with all internal functions.
- Strong self-motivation and drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Effective negotiation skills with a focus on securing value-driven outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Technical aptitude to interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
- Commercially aware with a dynamic and adaptable personality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems, particularly Dynamics 365.
- Capable of producing and delivering clear, concise technical and commercial presentations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile meaningful reports.
There may be occasional nights away from home on business. Candidates must also possess a vehicle with a UK drivers licence.
This is a full-time permanent role, usual working hours are Mondays to Thursdays 9am to 5:30pm and Fridays 9am to 5pm with an unpaid hour for lunch each day.
