Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. offers a Salaried Teacher Training Programme in Bridgwater, starting January, with a salary from day one and a two-year placement in a secondary school. The programme combines hands‑on classroom experience with fully funded teacher training to become a qualified teacher.

Year 1 is spent as a Cover Supervisor gaining experience across the school; Year 2 moves into formal teacher training with lesson planning, delivery and mentoring towards PGCE and QTS.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in any subject.
• Genuine passion for education and working with young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Willingness to learn from experienced teachers.
• Commitment to completing the full two-year programme.

Responsibilities

• Year 1: supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons; support pupils with their learning and engagement; develop classroom and behaviour management skills; build relationships with pupils and staff; gain experience across year groups and abilities; learn from teachers and school leaders.
• Year 2: plan and deliver own lessons; develop teaching style; assess pupil progress; learn how to create engaging lessons; ongoing mentoring and professional development; work towards PGCE and QTS.
