Job summary

Tower House Surgery on the Isle of Wight invites an enthusiastic and committed salaried GP to join our experienced team. The role can be full or part-time, offering flexible hours within a supportive, patient-centred practice.

You will provide a range of general medical services, conduct face-to-face, telephone and home visit appointments, manage chronic conditions, participate in quality improvement and CPD, and work closely with nurses and allied health professionals in a busy but friendly

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with full GMC registration (UK).
• Evidence of current appraisal readiness to practice in the UK.
• Experience in a primary care environment.
• Commitment to CPD and professional development.
• Experience with QOF and clinical audits.
• Medicines management experience.
• Understanding of the primary care contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to the practice population.
• Undertake a mix of face-to-face, telephone and home visit appointments.
• Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe safely and effectively in line with current guidelines and best practice.
• Manage and monitor long-term conditions.
• Review and action pathology results, clinical correspondence, and other patient-related documentation promptly.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physiotherapists and other allied health professionals.
• Support safeguarding responsibilities for both children and vulnerable adults.
• Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and practice development initiatives.
• Engage in CPD and the appraisal process.
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
