Job summary

Margaret Street Surgery, an NHS practice with a Tycroes branch, seeks a salaried GP for a one-year fixed-term contract. The role involves general practice consultations, prescribing and long-term condition management in a busy, supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Part-time across ~6 sessions per week, negotiable, with GMC registration and inclusion on the All Wales Medical Performers List required. The post offers clinical autonomy within a structured workload, with opportunities to develop

Qualifications

• Completion of GP training or equivalent.
• Full GMC registration.
• Listed on All Wales Medical Performers List.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care in routine appointments across a wide range of conditions.
• Assess health concerns, make diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe medication, monitor prescriptions and advise on its use.
• Provide preventative care, including screening and lifestyle advice.
• Take medical histories and carry out physical examinations.
• Manage long-term conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and mental health conditions.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in practice management software.
• Conduct home visits when needed, in line with practice protocols.
• Attend multi-disciplinary team and practice meetings, including clinical governance.
• Support practice staff and develop clinical skills.
• Take part in CPD and educational activities required by the GMC and NHS Wales.
