Job summary

Vale Medical Group is seeking a Salaried GP to provide autonomous medical services within a long-established GP practice in the Vale of Belvoir. You will deliver high-quality clinical care, uphold GMC standards, and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs.

The post holder will support routine and urgent care, chronic disease management, and participate in governance, training, and revalidation processes as part of ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP as a practising clinician.
• MRCGP or equivalent general medical qualification.
• CCT or equivalent to prove GP training.
• Full GMC registration to practice in the UK.
• Registration on the National Performers List.

Responsibilities

• Deliver highly effective medical care to the practice population.
• Adhere to GMC standards for good medical practice.
• Lead by example and manage with a collaborative MDT approach.
• Contribute to the management of the practice and quality improvements.
• Perform both core GP duties and delegated responsibilities as required.
• Participate in practice meetings and training, supporting CPD.

Job description

To work as an autonomouspractitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practicepopulation, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complyingwith the GMS contract.

Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilitiesof the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry outother tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload andstaffing levels:

a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b.Theprovision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

c.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d.Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions

e.Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeatprescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f.Ona rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g.Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance

h.Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i.Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the auditprocess

j.Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice

k.Acceptdelegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

l.Attendand contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

m.Contributeeffective to the development and maintenance of the practice includingclinical governance and training

n.Ensurecompliance with the appraisal process

o.Prepareand complete the revalidation process

p.Committo self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional developmentacross the practice team

q.Supportthe training of medical students from all clinical disciplines

t.Encouragecollaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting aculture of continuous improvement

Secondaryresponsibilities

In addition to the primary responsibilities,the salaried GP may be requested to:

a.Participatein practice audits as requested by the audit lead

b.Participatein local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

c.Participatein the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structuredapproach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)
