As part of Northumbria Primary Care and the wider NPC North Tyneside neighbourhood, the practice benefits from a diverse multidisciplinary team and a collaborative network across four local sites, providing opportunities for shared learning, peer support, and service resilience. Based at Nelson Health Centre alongside other NHS services, the practice is well connected within the local community and works closely with a range of partner organisations, including women’s refuge services, rehabilitation centres, care homes, children’s services, and OpCourage. Serving a population with significant health inequalities and higher levels of deprivation, Nelson has a particular focus on continuity, preventative care, wellbeing, and proactive long-term condition management.

The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary Practice team to provide general medical services for the needs of the practice population and to help ensure the Practice provides the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
The post holder will manage a busy caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.
The post holder is expected to contribute to the operational and strategic management of the practices within Northumbria Primary care and there are opportunities for personal and professional development across a wide range of areas within primary and secondary care.
