Northumbria Primary Care NPC, part of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a Salaried GP to work across Amble and Broomhill practices. The role offers flexible patterns, up to 6 sessions per week, within a teaching environment that supports students and staff development.

The successful applicant will be an NHS employee via NPC, with a base practice within NPC and possible duties at other sites across the group.

Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration is required for practicing in primary care.
• Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent (JCPTGP/nMRCGP) is essential.
• Membership of a recognised defence union (MPS/MDU) is required.
• Currently on a performers list and never been removed from a performers list for a detrimental reason.
• DRCOG, DFFP/FFFP and DCH qualifications are expected for this GP post.

Responsibilities

• Provide general medical services as part of the Salaried GP team in primary care.
• Work across Amble and Broomhill sites with an average of 6 sessions per week over a 6‑month period.
• Contribute to teaching and education for medical students and junior staff.
• Deliver high-quality patient care while promoting service continuity and a supportive team culture.

Job overview

Amble and Broomhill are looking for a Salaried GP to work part time at our practice working across both Amble and Broomhill sites.

We are looking for a GP who can commit to working an average of 6 sessions per week over a 6-month period. Sessional requirements may vary from week to week in line with practice demand, including periods such as school holidays, Christmas and other times when additional clinical capacity is required.

We are a teaching practice who take great pride in developing our future work force, medical students, nursing students and the continued development of all staff. Main duties of the job

As a GP Practice which is part of Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC), we work with flexibility and independence to run the surgery based on what is best for our patients and staff, and additionally we have the regular and consistent support of the management team to help us to focus on what is clinically important.

As a Salaried GP the post holder will be a key clinician within the team. A job plan will be agreed with you to provide general medical services and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.

The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary Practice team to provide general medical services for the needs of the practice population and to help ensure the Practice provides the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.

The post holder will manage a busy caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting.

The post holder is expected to contribute to the operational and strategic management of the practices within Northumbria Primary care and there are opportunities for personal and professional development across a wide range of areas within primary and secondary care.
