Job summary

A GP Training Practice near Neath, South Wales, is seeking a General Practitioner to join a supportive, family‑oriented team. The post offers six sessions per week with flexible arrangements and a low home-visit burden, supported by ANPs and a dedicated coding team.

Qualified GPs registered with the GMC and UK Performers List are invited to apply; newly qualified doctors are welcome. The practice provides a strong training culture and modern premises close to Neath.

• Pooled practice list with no personal lists.
• Urgent same-day demand is shared across the GPs working that day.
• Low home visit burden, with ANP support for visits and the care home.
• On call shared fairly between Partners, Salaried GPs and ANPs.
• No extended hours.

Job description

A GP Training Practice with a genuine family feel, purpose-built premises and a wide multidisciplinary team around you. BMA safe working guidance of 25 patient contacts a day is the baseline for every GP. There is real scope for a GP with an interest in paediatrics or training to shape the role.

Location

The practice is in a semi-rural former mining valley near Neath, South Wales. Neath is around 25 minutes away by car, Port Talbot around 35 minutes and Swansea around 40 minutes, and the M4 is around 15 minutes from the practice.

The Practice

• GP Training Practice with registrars in post and a strong training culture
• Small practice with a close-knit, family feel
• Purpose-built, very well-maintained premises with a dedicated training room
• Wide multidisciplinary team including ANPs, a prescribing pharmacist, practice nurses and healthcare support workers who handle phlebotomy and ECGs
• Dedicated coding and summarising team, which has sharply reduced the daily letter workload for GPs
• Strong partnership team with long-serving Partners
• New Practice Manager focused on modern systems and making jobs easier for clinicians

Salary and Benefits

• Up to £11,000 per session
• 6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
• 1 week study leave
• Professional fees covered, with indemnity topped up by the practice
• BMA model contract terms, including sick and maternity pay
