Job summary

King'S Surgery in Port Talbot seeks a salaried GP to work four sessions across Monday and Tuesday with on-call on other days. You will join two partners in a well-established practice with modern facilities and strong nursing support.

The role features no out-of-hours, weekends, or extended hours, with salary negotiable based on experience. The position includes NHS and private workload sharing, with emphasis on high-quality patient care, triage, and EMIS-based documentation.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified GP with UK registration and eligibility to practice independently.
• Experience with EMIS and Docman is preferred.
• Proven track record in general practice and team-based care.

Responsibilities

• Triage and face-to-face assessments for patients.

We are looking for a salaried GP who will be able to work 4 sessions over Monday and Tuesday, with alternative days on call. You will be working alongside our current team of two partners in our well established, enthusiastic and high achieving practice. We are situated on Baglan Moors in Port Talbot in the purpose-built Port Talbot Resource Centre, which is conveniently located just off the M4 motorway at Baglan.

We are a friendly practice and we were announced as joint winners of the RCGP Practice Administration Team of the Year Award 2013.

• 6500 patients

Job responsibilities

• Triage and face to face appointments
• On call
• Equitable share with other Doctors
• Covering partners
• Equitable share of workload when a member of the Clinical Team is away
• Share of cover for doctors when they are on leave
• On call duties when requested by the partnership

• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
• Dealing with workflow queries, blood results, prescriptions, medical reports and examinations, referral letters (NHS and private) and correspondence (Docman) by the end of their working week
• Taking an equitable share of the queries and workload from the wider MDT team
• Making professional autonomous decisions with either self-referred patients or those referred by another member of the MDT team
• Recording and making contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards
• Prescribing within locally agreed guidelines

The working day runs from 08.30 to 18.30
