Job summary

Stratton Medical Centre, a busy town practice near Bude, is recruiting a salaried GP for six sessions a week with a view to partnership. The post involves general practice for about 10,700 registered patients, with a mix of pre-booked and same-day appointments.

The practice operates within a Primary Care Network and supports trainees with education and supervision. GMC registration and NHS Performance List entry are required, along with experience in UK general practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine pre-booked appointments
• Offer urgent on-the-day appointments
• Triage urgent appointments as part of a rota
• Carry out medication reviews and prescribing
• Manage paperwork, referrals, test results and investigations
• Care plan for more complex patients
• Conduct telephone follow-up consultations
• Undertake home visits when the home visiting team is unavailable
• Contribute to QOF and practice quality initiatives; provide safeguarding and follow-up
• Support GP trainees with education and supervision
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team

The work is general practice for a registered list of around 10,700 patients, mixing pre-booked and urgent same-day appointments, triage rota, care planning and home visits. As a training practice in a Primary Care Network, the GP also supports trainees with education and supervision. Applicants need UK general practice experience and NHS Performance List entry.
