A regional fire and rescue service is looking for a SafetyWorks Team Member for a maternity cover role. This 10-month fixed-term position involves delivering key fire safety and personal safety messages to school-aged children and various community groups across Tyne and Wear. Essential experience includes training delivery and a commitment to inclusivity and ethical behavior. £32,061 to £33,699 per annum + benefits
We are seeking to fill a 10-month fixed‑term vacancy to cover maternity leave for the role of SafetyWorks Team Member.
Reporting directly to the SafetyWorks Manager, you will be responsible for delivering key fire safety and personal safety messages, working alongside multiple partners to engage school‑aged children and various community groups across Tyne and Wear.
Essential requirements include experience working with young people, delivering both theoretical and practical training, and carrying out associated administrative tasks. Knowledge of the fire service and partner agencies, as well as experience in health and safety and equality, diversity, and inclusion, would be advantageous.
The post holder will be based at SafetyWorks, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service’s interactive safety centre in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role may also involve some outreach work in schools across Tyne and Wear.
