Job summary

Lighthouse Safety is seeking a result-oriented Health & Safety trainer to deliver accredited and bespoke courses from its Rainham facility, covering CITB, IOSH, Qualsafe, and client-specific programs across London and the South East. The role includes consultancy support and ongoing professional development, with training delivered on client premises as needed.

Applicants should bring teaching qualifications (PTLLS/EATs or equivalent), CITB trainer approval, IOSH membership, and proven ability

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of Health & Safety.
• Professional and confident approach when working with clients.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
• PTLLS, EATs or equivalent teaching qualification.
• CITB trainer/assessor approval.
• IOSH membership.
• Qualsafe training experience.
• Experience delivering CITB, IOSH, First Aid and bespoke Health & Safety courses.
• Previous Health & Safety consultancy experience, including site inspections, risk assessments, RAMS and COSHH assessments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Health & Safety training across the Lighthouse Safety course portfolio.
• Deliver accredited courses including CITB Site Safety Plus, IOSH and Qualsafe First Aid, alongside bespoke Health & Safety courses.
• Ensure training is delivered in accordance with awarding body requirements and Lighthouse Safety’s Quality Management System.
• Complete all required course administration, assessment records and paperwork accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Create an engaging learning environment and adapt delivery to meet the needs and experience of different learners.
• Maintain current knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, industry best practice and relevant training requirements.
• Support the development and delivery of new and bespoke courses in response to client requirements.
• Liaise with the Training & General Manager regarding course requirements, learner feedback and opportunities to develop the training provision.
• Assist with the development and delivery of bespoke training at client premises.
• Deliver Toolbox Talks and other client-specific Health & Safety sessions where appropriate.

Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality, engaging Health & Safety training across the Lighthouse Safety training portfolio, ensuring learners receive an effective, practical and professional training experience.

The primary focus of the role is the delivery of accredited and bespoke Health & Safety training, including CITB, IOSH, Qualsafe and client-specific courses. The role will also provide Health & Safety consultancy support to clients when required.

The role will be based from our training facility in Rainham, Kent, with training and consultancy delivered across London, Kent and the wider South East, including at client premises.
